Maury Rivesaltes France Tourist Train Axat Aude

Trans Valley Tourist railway is 100 years old, it once connected Rivesaltes nr Perpignan Aude to Carcassonne City. Today the stretch between Quillan and St Martin Lys is unsafe so now it runs from Rivesaltes to Axat covering 60km.

A 60's model of Axat station is on display in the ticket office. Souvenir posters, postcards and products of the region available. Take a 45 minute ride in the red and white carriages on the loop of Axat or a trip to St Paul de Fenouillet towards Rivesaltes via Estagel. Visit Maury Wine Domain reknowned throughout France for Muscadet fortified wine.

Cathar Trans Valley Express

The route offers spectacular scenery, Pyrenees Orientals, Cathar Chateau's, vineyards and pretty villages. Grau de Maury Pass opens out to the fossil valley of Maury famous for award winning wines. You can stop here to visit the town or use a bus service to Gorges de Galamus an amazing tourist attraction near Axat France
