Fishing holidays can be enjoyed on numerous stretches of the river Aude which is teeming with Pyrenees trout and salmon. Carp, bream, cat fish and Mediterranean barbel can also be caught. The area has a no kill policy endorsed by Pascal Cognard the three times in a row World Champion Fly Fisherman. Campagne sur Aude boasts the longest fly fishing stretch of 600M in Aude and is a Category 1 river. From March to September Fishing passes can be purchased from the local tabacs. The Carte de Pech de Vacances €28 will buy a 15 consecutive days pass to be used from 1st June till 30 November. Many lakes throughout the area allow fishing too.
Pyrenees Climbing The Aude region is mountainous across its length and breath. Suitable climbing locations for beginners and professionals are within a short drive. Qualified local instructors can be recommended for those requiring rock climbing tuition.
