The river Aude is perfect for Trout and Fly Fishing. Our Axat Accommodation is within
walking distance to the river Aude which is situated in the Languedoc Roussillon region of
France. Fishing holidays can be enjoyed on numerous river stretches teeming with Pyrenees
trout and salmon!
Axat boasts the longest fly fishing stretch of 600m in Aude and is a Category 1 river and has
a no kill policy endorsed by Pascal Cognard the three times in a row World Champion Fly
Fisherman.
Local lakes in Arques and Bugarach allow fishing and are graded Category 2. From March to
September permits and passes can now be purchased from the local tabac. The 'Carte de Pech
de Vacances' €28 will buy a 15 consecutive days pass to be used from 1st June till 30
November. Daily permits are available too. Tackle and bait can be purchased locally in
Quillan.
Combine Trout Fishing with numerous other Holiday Activities. Enjoy the nature and history
of nearby surrounding towns. We offer self catering Accommodation in a fabulous warm and
