50 GBP deposit per per week secures your booking. Full payment due 6 weeks prior to the start of your holiday. Breakages during your stay must be brought to our attention and replaced. Strictly no smoking inside. No pets. Please ensure you have adequate holiday insurance.

Axat in Aude Languedoc Roussillon

Axat boasts fabulous views of the Haute Valley Gorge. Cafés and restaurants overlook the river Aude which gives this region of South France its name. Walk from the Holiday Gites to the centre for freshly baked french loaves at the boulangerie with coffee bar and salon de thé. Supermarkets, charcuterie and delicatessen all offer fresh local produce. Tabac sells walking maps, fishing permits and postcards.

Warm open air pool with landscaped picnic area and superb scenery is a 2 minute stroll from the Holiday Gites. Play Boules at the Bouladrome, its floodlit in the evenings. Take a ride towards Perpignan to Maury on the Trans Valleé Tourist Train through picturesque vineyards. The journey allows time to stop at one of the Aude Languedoc Wine Domaines.

During your holiday in France we can arrange Bicycle Hire and have secure bike storage facilities at the Gites. Cycle routes take you along stunning gorges, Pyrenees Cols or well marked mountain tracks.

Walking trails lead from the Gites to the next villages of Artigues and Le Clat. Further routes to Gincla and Fanges forest. Visit impressive Puilaurens castle only a 15 min drive away. Cathare Fortresses are unique to the Aude region of South France. Puilaurens offers a steep climb to the top and stunning views across the Boulzane valley.

Popular White Water Rafting location. The fast flowing river Aude is a base for Roc Aqua and Sud Rafting Clubs. Accro Parc Forest Grimp a short drive away with tree climbing using rope and harness. Ski slopes of the Eastern Pyrenees are only a 30 minute bus ride.

Axat has two Aude Restaurants in walking distance of the Gites. Le Petit Ourse (Little Bear) typical French Menu with 50'S decor and display of teddy bears. The Bear is the mascot of Axat, bronze statues greet you at the roundabout to the town. Le Central provides riverside dining serving steaks and pizza meals with inside bar.

Well equipped kitchen/diner for 4 people. Double sink, Hob, Microwave/Grill, Kettle, Toaster, Coffee Maker.
2 bedrooms (1 double / 1 twin), Fitted Wardrobes, Mirrors, Bedside tables.
Bathroom with bath, shower and sink, seperate WC.
Shared : Laundry room with irons and ironing boards.
Games room with table football, dart board, boules and board games. Good selection of films and books.
Sun terraced garden with furniture, parasols and barbecue. Off road parking.
